October 7, 2020, the Digital Economy Promotion Agency by Dr. Nattapon Nimmanphatcharin, Chief Executive of DEPA, along with network partners, held a press conference on organizing the “Thailand Smart City Week 2020” event, the first exhibition of its kind on topics regarding smart city development technologies in the form of a Real Digital Event in Thailand that comes with the concept of REAL Solutions for REAL People in the REAL Smart Cities by moving forward to open a new dimension in applying digital technology to sustainable city development. The event is intended to inspire city administrators to explore solutions for the city’s readiness to attract people to participate in the development of smart cities equitably, reduce restrictions on time and location on accessing events through both online and offline event formats. It aims to be an important step in driving the development of smart cities in Thailand and ASEAN.
At the press conference, there was also a discussion on “Smart City in the Right Way” viewed from 3 perspectives from 3 city-observers, namely Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jittisak Thammapornpilas, Assistant to the President, Chulalongkorn University, Mr. Kwanchai Damrongkwan, owner of the Human Bangkok page, and Mr. Chatpong Chuenrudeemol, architect and founder of Chat Architects.
